£25m leisure scheme for Jersey
Work has started on a £25m commercial leisure scheme in Jersey.
The new 130,000sq ft development is the sixth commercial leisure scheme from developers CTP and comprises a 10 screen multiplex cinema form Cineworld, a Chicago Rock Café, plus The Bar and a Liquid nightclub from Luminar Leisure. The scheme will also feature a Fitness First health club, restaurants and a swimming centre with diving facilities to be managed by Serco Leisure.
Located on the Waterfront in St. Helier, the site is part of a larger scheme run by the Waterfront Enterprise Board which also includes commercial, housing and office development. A four star Marriot hotel is also planned.
The St. Helier Waterfront scheme is jointly funded by the State of Jersey and a number of operators, and is the largest development in the Channel Islands to date. The leisure development it scheduled to be open for trade by Christmas 2002.
