£380,000 revamp for Hertfordshire gyms
Beaumonts Gym at The Venue in Borehamwood has reopened following a major renovation and equipment replacement as part of a £380,000 investment by Hertsmere Borough Council.
The 122 sq m (1,313 sq ft) facility in Hertfordshire received 90 new pieces of Nautilus equipment, including six pieces of Inclusive Fitness Initiative kit. A large stretch and abs area has also been added and the centre has been redecorated.
Managers predict the new facilities will attract a further 300 to 400 members, bringing the gym up to its target membership of 1,800. They also hope it will generate interest among current non-users.
General manager Barry Ellis said: “We have already received a number of comments saying that the new kit has improved our customers’ experience. The IFI kit will also help us to appeal to a wider range of users. The new gym layout is designed to welcome all users from beginners to advanced.”
The centre, which closed for three days while the work was done, is one of two Beaumonts Gyms receiving funding by the council. The facility in nearby Bushey Grove will also be renovated later this year.
