Independent UK cinema company, Apollo Cinemas, has opened a five-screen luxury cinema complex in London’s West End.

Apollo West End is the first purpose built cinema in the area in a decade and will Apollo’s 12th multiplex site.

Chair, Paul Gregg, said: “This is our first site in the capital and we believe the concept will be ideal for development in other cities in the UK.”

Apollo intends to open six more luxury cinemas during 2005. The company expects to attract around 2.5 million visitors to its cinemas in 2004.
