Voya launches Resurge Hair and Scalp Elixir and spa treatments

By combining advanced actives with our natural, seaweed-based heritage, we’ve created a solution that addresses the root causes of hair concerns, starting at the scalp

Organic seaweed spa brand Voya has developed a lightweight scalp serum called Resurge Hair and Scalp Elixir.

The product is designed to target signs of hair ageing using a formula that includes proprietary plant cell technology and zinc. Other ingredients include a concentrated blend of nutrient-rich botanicals, such as rosemary oil and argan oil, to restore softness and shine as well as refresh the scalp.

The product is said to create the optimal environment for fuller, healthier-looking and more radiant hair.

Data from a consumer trial of 31 participants aged between 25 and 65 using the product daily for 28 days found the following:

• 83 per cent said their hair looked healthier

• 80 per cent said the overall appearance of their hair had improved

• 74 per cent  said their scalp felt healthier

• 77 per cent  said their scalp felt more hydrated and comfortable

The elixir absorbs quickly and is designed for daily use on a clean scalp in the morning or evening.

“Resurge represents a new era in organic scalp care,” says Anna Theofanous, global head of spa partnerships and business development for Voya. “By combining advanced actives with our natural, seaweed-based heritage, we’ve created a solution that addresses the root causes of hair concerns, starting at the scalp.”

Voya has developed two professional treatments that integrate the new elixir.

The Voya Resurge Scalp Treatment, which lasts 50 minutes, uses a cooling green jade comb to stimulate circulation and release tension, and the elixir is massaged into the scalp. The massage boosts absorption of the product, nourishes hair follicles and relieves stress.

The Voya Head Spa Scalp Ritual, which also lasts 50 minutes, is a ritual that begins with a gentle scalp cleanse, followed by the green jade combing experience.

The 30ml retail bottle costs £37 (US$47, €43).
