Gaia Skincare launches its Affinity Face Experience, building on cancer-safe protocols

Having gone through a cancer journey with a family member, I appreciate that sometimes you just need a break from it all

Gaia Skincare has developed the Gaia Affinity Face Experience, a 45-minute or 60-minute protocol that has been designed to be safe for those living with or recovering from cancer.

The Affinity Face Experience is also suitable for guests managing medical conditions and disabilities that may otherwise limit access to traditional spa treatments.

The therapy joins the Affinity Cancer Experience, a CIBTAC-certified and SATCC-approved protocol that launched in 2021.

The new facial experience has launched at the brand’s flagship spa, Gaia Boringdon, outside Plymouth in the UK, with more partner spas to follow.

The new treatment begins with a grounding foot ritual and is followed by a personalised facial protocol that uses techniques from the brand’s mindful toolbox.

The experience has been created to help guests feel at ease, renewed and comforted.

Diane Nettleton, founder of Gaia Skincare, said; “Having gone through a cancer journey with a family member, I appreciate that sometimes you just need a break from it all, a change of scenery. Permission not to think about what is happening. The opportunity to be normal and do things with your family and friends. Live your life, grasp the moment. Make that day a good day – a fantastic day.”

Training

The brand provides specialist government-recognised training for the Affinity Cancer Experience for spa partners and hotels.

The holistic programme is for advanced and experienced therapists with a Level 3 qualification from a UK-recognised awarding body. Therapists do not, however, have to be Gaia-trained or users of Gaia products to enrol.
