Leisure operator Fusion Lifestyle has announced that it will invest millions of pounds over the course of the next three years in modernising its facilities across the UK, starting with the Ivybridge Leisure Centre in Devon.

Slated to open next summer the Ivybridge Leisure Centre will undergo a major renovation that will include new fitness and spin studios, a cafe and squash courts, as well as a six-lane Open Sky swimming pool with a sundeck and a state-of-the-art retractable roof.

Retractable roof specialist Bright Buildings was commissioned to create the Open Sky structure for the pool, and will create a steel structure with high-grade insulated aluminium walls and a retractable roof, designed by architect Paul Hoppe.
