Ster Century, the South African-owned UK and Irish cinema group has been sold to Aurora Holdings.

The deal was backed by Inflexion Private Equity and was acquired from Royal Resorts and Primedia.

One of Aurora Holdings’ partners is the ex-managing dircetor of Ster Century Europe, Mike Ross, who will now become CEO of the cinema chain.

Ster Century owns seven sites in the UK and Ireland – including Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds and Dublin. The Ster Century name will be kept and Aurora will focus on maximising the sites. Details: www.stercentury.co.uk
